‘Together. For the Youth.’ Conference publications
From the beginning of January 2011 to September 2011 the FAR Association implemented a project called ‘Strengthening the Evidence Based Practice of Education Civil Society Organizations Initative’, funded by the Open Society Institute in Budapest. The project aimed to encourage non-governmental and civil society organizations to adopt comprehensive data gathering protocols and strategies to systematically collect data emerging from their service work which once collected and analyzed can serve for enhancing the quality of the services provided by them.
Within the framework of this project FAR conducted a study of the young people living in the region of Burgas on the topic ‘The impact of non-formal political education on the active citizenship of 14 to 19 year old students in the region of Burgas’.
The findings of the research were presented during the concluding conference ‘Together. For the Youth’ which held on 02.09.2011 at Cultural centre ‘Sea Casino’ in Burgas.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science, Municipality Burgas, Regional Inspectorate of Education – Burgas, National Youth Forum, NGOs, as well as school directors and school teachers, and young people from the region took part at the FAR conference.
The conference schedule included reports by representatives of institutions and various youth organizations on the issues in formal and non-formal education in Bulgaria and Europe.

Project “On a way to a cosmopolitan Europe – a challenge for generations”
The project
Round forty people from different countries will meet in Duisburg from 6. to 13. November and discuss about the European future, write about migration and learn something about European journalism.
Five young people from Bulgaria will take part in the meeting. The goal is to provide the European online newspaper – EuropeanYouthVoice . The Internet newspaper exists already since 2006. It wants to produce a new European public. It is about a peaceful living together in a democratic Europe.
European Youth Voice is open to everybody. Everybody also can write for the newspaper about recent events in Europe, share photos make, produce small films or upload audio files. You can put your contributions on the side yourself. To do that you only need a LogIn.

Семинар “Рома ле…”
На тема „роми” витае политическо лицемерие. И то е на път да продължи именно, когато на французите им писна от “грижа” за ромите и ги изпратиха по домовете им у нас и в Румъния.
Къде ще се обсъждат проблемите на ромите в Европа? Някъде в Брюксел? На конференции, предполага се… Но това е неразумно. Проблемите на ромите не могат да бъдат решени в Брюксел, както не могат да бъдат решени и във Франция.
Французите са прави само за едно. Проблемът на ромите може да се реши само там, където те живеят. Всичко друго е конференции и “включвания”, за които самите роми ще ни кажат, че няма решение.
Обсъждането на проблемите на ромите трябва да се случи при нас самите.
Нека всеки, който иска да каже нещо умно по темата или има идеи, да дойде за да ги обсъдим заедно на семинар за ромите.
