Bulgaria – Link between Europe and Asia

Due to its location in the very Southeast of Europe, Bulgaria has always been exposed to European as well as Oriental influences. Until today the Bulgarian culture is affected by traces of the Thracians, Greeks, Slaves, Romans, Byzantinians and Turks. Currently the country orientates itself at Western Europe and is member of the European Union since the beginning of 2007.
